Break Every Chain

Please add this worship song to your online church sermon, morning devotion, or evening quiet time.
Today’s song is “Break Every Chain” performed by Grace Larson

“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.  Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.  For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.  Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.  Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.  In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.  Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.  And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.  Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.”
Eph 6: 10-20 (NIV)

Today’s song “Break Every Chain’ speaks of the power of the Name of Jesus.  Jesus, the name above all names, Prince of Peace, Counselor, Bread of Life, Everlasting Father, Good Shepard, Jehovah, King of Kings, Lamb of God, Son of Man, Light of the World, Lion of Judah, Messiah, Morning Star, Prophet, Redeemer, Rose of Sharon, the Way the Truth and the Life, to name only a few.

Today’s song speaks of the power, authority, and dominion we have over principalities, powers, rulers of the darkness of this world, and against spiritual wickedness in high places.  Because of the finished work of Jesus Christ, we can declare, decree, or forbid any enemy access over ourselves, our minds, our health, our finances, our children, our families, our communities and our nations.

As our bible verse of the day instructs us to take the shield of faith that will deflect the flaming arrows of Satan.  We can be certain that we will succeed when we take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, the word of God.  We also read that when we deny access to the enemy, he is powerless and will flee,
Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”
James 4:7 (NIV)

Finally, today’s song speaks of the fact that we are part of God’s army; we are in an army that cannot lose.  Although evil surrounds us, we can have peace and assurance that God will deal will all sin.  How exactly God deals with the evil of this world and how He uses each of us as soldiers in this battle, we may not yet understand.  We can however, be certain that He is working everything out, and we will be on the winning team, for “team Satan” always loses, and “team God” always wins.

Although evil surrounds us, we are now seeing God’s people rise and take a stand for truth and light.  I believe God is awakening His children, removing blinders, softening hearts, and opening eyes to His truth, glory, and resurrection power.  A new generation is having real encounters with the living God, as well, seeing, believing, and putting their faith in Jesus Christ.  They are learning that Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life and that Jesus is real joy, contentment, love, grace, and mercy.  Revivals are happening, and people of all tongues, tribes, and nations are finding out that Jesus is the answer to the evils of this world.

If today you feel frustrated, worried, afraid, lonely, or burdened, remember there is power in the name of Jesus.  If you need a protector, a healer, a provider, a comforter, an avenger, or a friend, call upon His name today; if you need joy, strength, or peace, call upon His name today.  He is everything you will ever need and more.

Finally, as we all draw into a closer relationship with our Heavenly Father, may we pray for discernment, wisdom, and revelation.  May we have ears to hear, eyes to see, mouths to preach the word of salvation, hands to do the work of God, feet ready for service, and hearts full of love so that Christ’s Kingdom will be on earth as it is in Heaven.

In Christ,
Lou-Anne

Break Every Chain
Lyrics

There is power in the name of Jesus
There is power in the name of Jesus
There is power in the name of Jesus
To break every chain, break every chain, break every chain
To break every chain, break every chain, break every chain

There is power in the name of Jesus
There is power in the name of Jesus
(There is power) There is power in the name of Jesus (We know where it is)
To break every chain, break every chain, break every chain
To break every chain, break every chain, break every chain

There’s an army rising up
There’s an army rising up
There’s an army rising up
To break every chain, break every chain, break every chain
To break every chain, break every chain, break every chain

The chains are broken (The chains are broken)
The chains are broken (The chains are broken)
The chains are broken (The chains are)
The chains are broken

I hear the chains falling
I hear the chains falling, the chains are falling
I hear the chains falling
You gotta hear it, I hear the chain (I hear the chains falling)
Hear it in the spirit
I hear the chains (I hear the chains falling)

Is loud in my ear
I hear the chains falling
I hear the chains falling
I hear the chains falling

May we grow together in the love of Christ to reflect upon the mercies and blessings upon our lives, to feel the presence of God’s living Holy Spirit through worship to sing, pray, laugh, dance, cry, but mostly to praise our Lord and Father as we were indeed created2praise.
