Worthy is the Lamb

Please add this worship song to your online church sermon, morning devotion, or evening quiet time.
Today’s song is “Worthy is the Lamb” by Darlene Zschech

“Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels, numbering thousands upon thousands, and ten thousand times ten thousand. They encircled the throne and the living creatures and the elders.  In a loud voice they were saying: ‘Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!’  Then I heard every creature in heaven, on earth, under the earth, and on the sea, and all that is in them, saying: ‘To Him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power, for ever and ever!’  The four living creatures said, ‘Amen,’ and the elders fell down and worshiped.”
Rev 5:11-14 (NIV)

I chose “Worthy is the Lamb,” performed by Darlene Zschech, for two reasons, first, it offers a wonderful visual of a stadium filled with sons and daughters of our God offering praise and worship to Jesus Christ, and second, but most importantly, the song speaks of and gives glory for Christ’s victory over death and how He alone is worthy of all praise, honour, and glory.

Please take the extended scenic view to arriving at this blog’s point with me.  Here we go!

I hope this visual of worshippers praising Jesus for His victorious sacrifice, found in the worship of “Worthy is the Lamb,” brings you joy, hope, and expectation, as it does me.
I point us to this visual of worshippers as it reminds me of the pictures I have seen during the last month of revivals popping up worldwide; I hope you have seen them too.  If not, let me share that the Holy Spirit has initiated revivals over the past month through young people, yes, young people, not through organized denominations, prophets, ministers, or event planners but through the work of the Holy Spirit with the young generation, in a way that the Holy Spirit alone can do.

“And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.”
Matthew 24:14 (NIV)

The initial revival sparked at Ashbury College on February 8, 2023, was student-initiated by a young man who was prompted to repent.  This single repentance developed into a two-week-around-the-clock prayer, worship, and healing revival that drew people and attention worldwide.

This is a list of others that have developed since Asbury:
Jackson George High School
Cedarville University (Ohio)
Ohio Christian University
Lee University (Tennessee)
Bethel Austin Texas
Park Hill Missouri
Indiana Wesleyan University
The Gate Charlotte. NC
Christ for the Nations Dallas. TX
Kingdom Life Waterville. ME
University of Kentucky
EKU (Eastern Kentucky)
KCU (Kentucky Christian)
Kingsway in Birmingham. AL
Israel
Uganda

The Bible clearly states that before Christ’s return, the gospel will be preached to the entire world; revival will happen.  Sources that I listen to talk of a billion-soul harvest.  This billion-soul harvest before Christ’s return was first prophesied by a man named Bob Jones in 1983; others of late have been prophesying the same.  We should not be surprised at the mention of these prophecies as the bible clearly states:

“In the last days, God says, ‘I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.’”
Acts 2:17 (NIV)

“Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in Me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.”
John 14:12 (NIV)

I am inspired and filled with joy, hope, and expectation when I watch and listen to this video, imagining their experience with the Holy Spirit actively present and indwelling the arena.  Although as exciting as this moment of worship would have been, we can be sure it is only a shadow of our praise and worship; when we stand before the King of kings and Lord of lords declaring:

‘Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise.”

Imagine this first moment when we offer our praise, honour, and glory to the King of Kings; this moment of thousands upon thousands, ten thousand times ten thousand, including the church/bride of Christ, the billion soul-harvest, a few people in this video, and all the saints that have gone before us, from every nation, tribe, people and language, all worshipping before God our Heavenly Father, Jesus our Bridegroom, and the Holy Spirit our Dove; how completely awe-inspiring, unimaginable, and unexplainable this will be.

“After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands.  And they cried out in a loud voice:
“Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb.”
All the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures. They fell down on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, saying:
“Amen!
Praise and glory
and wisdom and thanks and honor
and power and strength
be to our God for ever and ever.
Amen!”
Rev 7:9-12

This awe-inspiring, unimaginable, unexplainable moment of praise will be our eternity.

In Christ,
Lou-Anne

Worthy is the Lamb
Lyrics

Thank you for the cross Lord
Thank you for the price You paid
Bearing all my sin and shame
In love You came
And gave amazing grace

Thank you for this love Lord
Thank you for the nail pierced hands
Washed me in Your cleansing flow
Now all I know Your forgiveness and embrace

Worthy is the Lamb
Seated on the throne
Crown You now with many crowns
You reign victorious

High and lifted up
Jesus, Son of God
The Darling of Heaven crucified
Worthy is the Lamb
Worthy is the Lamb

He is high and lifted up
Jesus, Son of God
The Darling of Heaven crucified (worthy)
Worthy is the Lamb
Worthy is the Lamb (He’s worthy)
Worthy is the Lamb
Worthy is the Lamb

Thou art worthy (My God, I shall sing to thee)
Thou art worthy
Holy, holy
Thou art worthy (My God, I shall sing to thee)
Thou art worthy
Holy, holy
Thou art worthy (My God, I shall sing to thee)
Thou art worthy (He’s worthy, He’s worthy)
(He’s worthy) Holy, holy
Thou art worthy (He’s high and lifted up)
Thou art worthy
Holy, holy (Praise him, praise You, Lord)
Thou art worthy
(Thou art worthy) Worthy is the Lamb

May we grow together in the love of Christ to reflect upon the mercies and blessings upon our lives, to feel the presence of God’s living Holy Spirit through worship to sing, pray, laugh, dance, cry, but mostly to praise our Lord and Father as we were indeed created2praise.
