Way Maker

Please add this worship song to your online church sermon, morning devotion, or evening quiet time.
Today’s song is “Way Maker” performed by Darlene Zschech and William McDowell

“‘Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God.  I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’”
Isaiah 41:10 (NKJV)

“‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.  Then you will call on Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you.  You will seek Me and find Me when you seek Me with all your heart.'”
Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)

Many of you will recognize worship leader Darlene Zschech, as we’ve heard her lead songs such as Shout to the Lord, Victor’s Crown and many others.  I suspect preacher, worship leader, and songwriter William McDowell may be new to some of you.  If you have not heard William, minister, through music, I can tell you that he always has a powerful message through song and is never afraid, bashful, or ashamed to step out and declare Jesus Christ as King.
Today, I will let Darlene Zschech and William McDowell minister to you in their own words through Waymaker, what a powerful praise leader duo they are and what powerful praise they offer.  I hope you will want to listen to Waymaker in its entirety; if you have time for only a short sample of the piece, please listen to William McDowell at minute 7:30 and Darlene Zschech at 10:25 for their powerful message of praise to God our Father.

Does Jesus really care about each of us and our problems?
Jesus most certainly cares for each of us and our problems.  He cared two thousand years ago, and He cares today.  His miracles and workings are sometimes visible but are more often subtle and far more complex than we can even imagine.  We can rest assured that He is always and forever working in our lives so that we may come to know Him, His love, His healing touch, and His offer of eternal life through Christ.  He is our healer, our redeemer, our deliverer, our restorer, our mediator, our hiding place, our strong tower, our refuge from the storm, our shield, our miracle worker, our Saviour, our God, our King.

Father God, thank you that You are our “way maker, miracle worker, promise keeper, light in the darkness,” for we know that is who You are.  We thank you that Your touch can heal us when we are broken, and Your touch can mend our broken hearts.  We recognize that Your name is above depression, loneliness, and disease. We thank you that “even when we don’t see it, you’re working; even when we don’t feel it, you’re working.”  We thank you that You alone can turn our lives around and that You never stop working on our behalf.  Today we declare that Your name is above every other name, and we want to worship you forever for who You are.  In Jesus’ Name, we pray, Amen.

In Christ,
Lou-Anne

Way Maker
Lyrics

You are here, moving in our midst
I worship You, I worship You
You are here, working in this place
‘N I worship You, I worship You

You are
Way maker, miracle worker
Promise keeper, light in the darkness
My God, that is who You are
Forever
Way maker, miracle worker
Promise keeper, light in the darkness
My God, that is who You are

You are here, touching every heart
And I worship You, oh God, I worship You
You are here, and You are healing every heart
I worship You, I worship

You are here (You are here)
And You are turning lives (Turning lives around)
Yes, You are
I worship You (I worship You)
Oh (I worship You)
You are here (You are here)
And You are mending every heart (Mending every heart)
And I worship You (I worship You)
I worship You

We know You to be
Way maker, miracle worker
Promise keeper, light in the darkness
My God, that is who You are
If you had testimony, sing You are
Way maker, miracle worker
Promise keeper, light in the darkness
My God, that is who You are
Come on, we know Him to be a way maker, say way maker
Way maker, miracle worker
Promise keeper, You are
Promise keeper, light in the darkness
My God, that is who You are
We declare all over the world, way maker
Way maker, (We know), miracle worker (You are)
Promise keeper, light in the darkness
My God, that is who You are

That is who You are (That is who You are)
That is who You are (That is who You are)
A way maker
That is who You are (That is who You are)
That is who You are (That is who You are)
Oh-oh-oh (Oh-oh-oh)

Even when I don’t see it, You are working
Even when I don’t feel that You are working
You never stop, You never stop working
You never stop, You never stop-
Even when I don’t see that You are working
You don’t have to all the time
Even when I don’t feel that You are working
You just know He’s working on your behalf
You never stop, You never stop working
He’s moving on your behalf
You never stop, You never stop working
You might be sick in your body
Even when I don’t see that You are working
But when you pray
Even when I don’t feel that You are working
He’s working in your body right now
You never stop, You never stop working
He’s working on your situation right now
You never stop, You never stop working
Say even when
Even when I don’t see that You are working
Say even when
Even when I don’t feel that You are working
Your love never stops
You never stop, You never stop working
Because that’s who our God is, that’s who our God is
You never stop, You never stop working
That’s who He is

Say way maker
Way maker, miracle worker
Promise keeper, light in the darkness
My God, that is who You are
Let the nations of the earth hear, declare and know, He is
Way maker, miracle worker
Promise keeper, light in the darkness
My God, that is who You are

Come on, if you know Him to be, would you open your mouth right here?
If you know Him to be that, would you open your mouth right here?
There are people on the earth who know who their God is
And they are not ashamed to declare
They are not ashamed to proclaim
They are not ashamed to cry out
Yes, Lord
Oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh

That’s my God, that’s my God
That’s my God
That’s my God, that’s my God
Yes, He is, yes, He is, that’s my God

There come moments in every generation
Whether you’re watching or whether you’re in this room right now
When the Lord reintroduces Himself to a generation and amplifies His message
Whether He says to Moses “Tell the people that I am, that I am”
Or whether He says, “Tell them that I am your Father, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob”
There come moments where He says, “It’s important for you to know who I am”
And whenever there’s a generation that may forget who He is
He allows a message to stir around the world
When it’s in everybody’s mouth at the same time
To say, “Hello, I want to reintroduce who I am”
“I still do miracles, I still make ways, I keep my promises”
This is who our God is
And we’re in a moment where He is reintroducing
His attributes to a generation
If you believe it, can you sing it
Until it wakes up in the heart of everyone who hears?
That’s why we say

Way maker
Way maker, miracle worker
You are
Promise keeper, light in the darkness
That’s who He is
My God, that is who You are
He is still healing, He is still making a way, He is
Way maker, miracle worker
I’ve seen Him do it
Promise keeper, light in the darkness
My God, that is who You are
Come on, just one more time
From the nations of the earth, come on, say
Say way maker

Way maker, miracle worker
Bodies healed, promises kept
Promise keeper, light in the darkness
My God, that is who You are
Said, I know You to be a way maker
Way maker, miracle worker
Promise keeper, light in the darkness
My God, that is who You are

Way maker, miracle worker
Promise keeper, light in the darkness
My God, that is who You are
Oh-oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh-oh, way maker
Way maker, miracle worker
Promise keeper, light in the darkness
My God, that is who You are

May we grow together in the love of Christ to reflect upon the mercies and blessings upon our lives, to feel the presence of God’s living Holy Spirit through worship, to sing, pray, laugh, dance, cry, but mostly to praise our Lord and Father as we were indeed created2praise.
