Praise the Lord (God is Good all the Time… -Part Two)

Please add this worship song to your online church sermon, morning devotion, or evening quiet time.
Today’s song is “Praise the Lord” performed by Russ Taff

Beloved, we are God’s children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when He appears we shall be like Him, because we shall see Him as He is.”
1 John 3:2 (ESV)

“I can do all this through Him who gives me strength.”
Philippians 4:13 (NIV)

I will share today that I had the privilege to be part of a Christian Singing tour group in the ’70s.  This group of around 30-45 singers toured across the United States, beginning in Michigan with the final destination of Estee Park in Colorado.  It featured a handful of top-notch singers; the others of us were just fill-ins.  Nevertheless, there was an audition, and I made the cut and was a part of this group, along with my immediate family.

The singing tour was called “Festival of Praise,”  and it featured powerful Christian music of the day.  One of the songs in the program was “Praise the Lord,” Russ Taff performs today’s version, the song initially performed by the Imperials (a great Christian group of the ’ 70s.)

Praise the Lord is one of those songs that has been at the top of my “to-go” inspirational Christian praise songs to overcome sadness, fear, and anxiety. It has been a comfort to me countless times through the years, especially when I was alone, defeated, or scared.

Satin is a Liar, and He wants to make us think we are paupers when we are children of the King!
Those chains Satin used to bind us, drop, every time against the mighty name of Jesus Christ!
Jesus can and does work through our struggles, not sometimes but every time, for He accomplished the work set out before Him!

Please check the lyrics of this song at the bottom of this page.  The words can be so inspirational and helpful in reminding us always to Praise the Lord through all circumstances.  He will always, always, always turn what Satin had for harm to the glory of our lives and the goodness of God and His Kingdom.  What a God we Praise today.

God is Good All the Time, and All the Time, God is Good!

In Christ,

Praise the Lord

When you’re up against a struggle that shatters all your dreams
And your hopes have been cruelly crushed by Satan’s manifested schemes
And you feel the urge within you to submit to earthly fears
Don’t let the faith you’re standing in seem to disappear

Praise the Lord, He can work through those who praise Him
Praise the Lord, for our God inhabits praise
Praise the Lord, for the chains that seems to bind you
Serve only to remind you that they drop powerless behind you
When you praise Him

Now Satan is a liar and he wants to make us think
That we are paupers when he knows himself we’re children of the King
So lift up the mighty shield of faith for the battle must be won
We know that Jesus Christ has risen so the work’s already done

May we grow together in the love of Christ to reflect upon the mercies and blessings upon our lives, to feel the presence of God’s living Holy Spirit through worship to sing, pray, laugh, dance, cry, but mostly to praise our Lord and Father as we were indeed created2praise.
