Today’s song is “Holy Spirit” performed by Francesca Battistelli
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
Act 1:8 (NIV)
“’Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.’ Amen.”
Matt 28:19-20 (NIV)
“And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions. Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days. I will show wonders in the heavens and on the earth, blood and fire and billows of smoke.”
Joel 2: 28-30 (NIV)
To offer praise, glory, and thanks to the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit today, I have chosen “Holy Spirit” performed by Francesca Battistelli. I invite you to place everything out of your mind and focus on worshipping the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He will surround you with His love, peace, and comfort. At this moment, the moment the Holy Spirit enters and dwells within you, you can never be the same again.
In Acts 2, we read of a group of people (in one accord) that, after receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit, literally went out and turned their world upside down. Their fear was replaced with confidence, confusion replaced with direction, discernment, and purpose, denial was replaced with witnessing, and meekness was replaced with leadership, power, and authority. Hiding in an upper room would be replaced with a public sermon by Peter to save 3000 men and women (quickly increasing to 5,000,) and twelve ordinary men going out into all of their world to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ, regardless of the trials and persecution they would endure. Apostles, with the Spirit of God, would now speak with the authority of Christ, casting out demons and healing the sick, along with many other signs and wonders.
Today 2023, we are reminded that we have this same Holy Spirit available to each of us. We cry out that we want, need, and seek the Holy Spirit. We pray for the Holy Spirit to come upon us now, as He did to the men and women at that first Pentecost. Today, may we be united by the Holy Spirit in our mission to bring your Kingdom here as it is in Heaven.
‘The glory of this latter temple shall be greater than the former,’ says the Lord of hosts. ‘And in this place, I will give peace,’ says the Lord of hosts.”
Haggai 2:9
Let’s Pray
Father God,
How we, our children, youth, sons and daughters, brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers, friends, and neighbours, need you beside us, within us, upon us, prompting the will of our Father in our personal, family, and professional lives.
Father God, we cry out to you today; we cry out for your wisdom, understanding, counsel, courage, knowledge, reverence, and fear of the Lord. We need Your love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, gentleness, faithfulness, and self-control; we need Your presence, truth, and justice.
In our crazy upside-down world of 2023, where good is evil and evil is good, we call on Your name, we humble ourselves, and admit that we have all been part of a sinful society. We admit we have fallen short and can only call upon the name of Jesus, the Holy Spirit, to lift us up, take over, correct, direct, and fill us now so that He would fulfill what God has in store for each of us to advance His Kingdom in our families, communities, nations, and world.
We read in 2 Chronicles 7:14, “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”
Today we know that our Church and nations need a move of You. Please hear, please come, and please heal our land.
Father God, we understand that we must do our part as well; we know that we need to unite as one body of Christ and operate with discernment, wisdom, and direction to help bring healing to our divided nations. As You united men and women at that first Pentecost, we seek this unity among our brothers and sisters in Christ today. Just as the Holy Spirit would provide an atmosphere for a move of God, we also look for an atmosphere of revival and change.
Please replace our fear with confidence, confusion with direction, discernment and purpose, denial with witnessing, and meekness with leadership, power, and authority. May we bravely speak of You and the Gospel message regardless of the cost. In our upside-down world, may we learn to speak with the authority of Christ to help heal our people and our land.
May we be ready, willing, and able to answer God’s call to fulfill our missions and bring your Kingdom to earth as it is in Heaven?
In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
In Christ,
Lou-Anne

Holy Spirit
Lyrics
There’s nothing worth more
That could ever come close
No thing can compare
You’re our living hope
Your presence, Lord
I’ve tasted and seen
Of the sweetest of loves
Where my heart becomes free
And my shame is undone
Your presence, Lord
Holy Spirit, You are welcome here
Come flood this place and fill the atmosphere
Your glory, God, is what our hearts long for
To be overcome by Your presence, Lord
Your presence, Lord
Let us become more aware of Your presence
Let us experience the glory of Your goodness
Holy Spirit, You are welcome here
Come flood this place and fill the atmosphere
Your glory, God, is what our hearts long for
To be overcome by Your presence, Lord

May we grow together in the love of Christ to reflect upon the mercies and blessings upon our lives, to feel the presence of God’s living Holy Spirit through worship to sing, pray, laugh, dance, cry, but mostly to praise our Lord and Father as we were indeed created2praise.
