The Moment the Whole World Changed

Please add this worship song to your online church sermon, morning devotion, or evening quiet time.
Today’s song is “The Moment the Whole World Changed” performed by Danny Gokey

“For to us a Child is born, to us a Son is given, and the government will be on His shoulders. And He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”
Isaiah 9:6 (NIV)

You will conceive and give birth to a Son, and you are to call Him Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David, and He will reign over Jacob’s descendants forever; His kingdom will never end.”
Luke 1:31-33 (NIV)

“Then I saw ‘a new heaven and a new earth,’ for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and He will dwell with them. They will be His people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
Revelation 21:1-4 (NIV)

The Moment the Whole World Changed

It seemed like “400 years of darkness,” 400 years of silence. 400 years since the prophets would speak words from God to the nation of Israel.
For 400 years, the Israelites waited for their Messiah, believing He would rescue them from the Roman oppressors and establish an earthly kingdom. The people, now in darkness, blinded and deafened to the possibility of a humble Messiah, many would, because of this, miss Him when He arrived.
For 400 years, they waited for a King, a Redeemer. They waited for their light to come, for their prayers to be answered, and for their promises to be fulfilled. Their hopes now diminished and nearly lost.
Had God abandoned His chosen people? Why was God silent? Did God remember His promises? Did God even care?

When, miraculously and suddenly, in a single moment, a tiny baby would appear in a humble setting, within the small town of Bethlehem. The promised Messiah, Son of God, would arrive, not as a conquering king in a capital city, but as an “infant baby” in the “little village of Bethlehem,” as accurately foretold by the prophets of old.
This quiet, unexpected arrival of a baby in a manger, to a humble carpenter’s son in the village of Bethlehem, was the moment that silence was shattered by an “everlasting Light.” His name was Jesus, and He was the Son of God.

John 8:12, Jesus says, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows Me will never walk in darkness but will have the Light of life.”

John 12:46, Jesus also said, “I have come as a Light into the world, that whoever believes in Me should not abide in darkness.”

In just 33 short years, Jesus would change the world forever. He would bring salvation, grace, unconditional love, a restored relationship with God (lost in the Garden), and a transforming moral compass that continues to influence our world two thousand years later.
This act of love and grace shows that God was far from inactive during these years of silence; instead, He was carefully shaping political, cultural, and spiritual circumstances to prepare the world for the arrival of their Messiah, a perfect sacrificial Lamb, fully God and fully human, descended from the line of David, and having followed the Mosaic Law; the only sacrifice capable of fulfilling prophecies and overcoming Satan.

This leads to the focus of today’s song, “The Moment the Whole World Changed,” performed by Danny Gokey
Do we feel that God is inactive today? Do you believe He does not hear your prayers for your family, friends, community, culture, nation, and the world at large? If so, remember, when God’s answer seems to be “no” or “not now,” we must recall that God’s ways are always higher than our ways, His timing is not ours, and what feels like delay or inactivity is always part of a larger unfolding plan.

Isaiah 55:8-9 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways,” declares the Lord. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts.”

Just as God prepared meticulously for the perfect arrival of His one and only Son 2000 years ago, He is actively involved in the greater plan for our lives, families, communities, nation, and world today.
God is, as He always has been, and always will be, actively unfolding a grand design in the midst of all perceived “darkness.”
Just like the Israelites of old, God has never abandoned us, regardless of how deserving we might be of eternal separation.

Romans 8:28, we read, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”

Examples of God’s interventions and continued “working out for man’s good” are proven repeatedly throughout the sixty-six books of the Bible.
The greatest demonstration of God’s constant plan and faithfulness to His promises was shown when He sent His only Son as a baby (a perfect plan) to live among and walk in a dark, fallen world. When darkness and hopelessness filled the people, God stepped in and offered more than they could have ever expected. He provided a Redeemer and King who would not establish an earthly kingdom, as expected, but instead, a King willing to give Himself to build a Heavenly Kingdom. Those with eyes to see and ears to hear His call, and those who are willing to accept Him as their Saviour, will reign in this Heavenly Kingdom for eternity. As always, God proves He has greater blessings in store for us than we can imagine.

Daniel 7:27 tells us, “And the kingdom and the dominion and the greatness of the kingdoms under the whole heaven shall be given to the people of the saints of the Most High; His kingdom shall be an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey Him.”

I hope that you do see, feel, experience, and believe that God is at work in everyday blessings, personal healing and restoration, the beauty of creation, and perhaps even in miraculous, unexplained miracles in your life and around you.
Today, I hope you will cling to these truths, find comfort, and be reassured of hope during times of perceived silence or darkness.

With the knowledge that:

Hebrews 13:8 “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.”

If God has been faithful in the past, He will be faithful now and will never let us down in the future.
Be assured that any current “darkness” are temporary, and a magnificent, enduring transformation is the ultimate destiny for all who call upon His name and accept Him as their Saviour.

Deuteronomy 31:8, “The Lord Himself goes before you and will be with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”

Yes, during this season, we see Jesus Christ as the human baby and the humble sacrificial lamb, but those who choose Him can look forward to a bright and glorious future as promised.

Isaiah 35:10 “and those the Lord has rescued will return. They will enter Zion with singing; everlasting joy will crown their heads. Gladness and joy will overtake them, and sorrow and sighing will flee away.”

Hallelujah, Jesus Christ is our Messiah, the King of kings, and Lord of lords.”

In Christ,
Lou-Anne

The Moment The World Changed
Lyric Highlights

 “That in one night
The whole world changed
As the heavenly host proclaimed
“Glory to God, and peace on Earth”
In a manger, our Savior lay
It was the moment
The whole world change”

“Jesus Christ, Emmanuel
Isn′t he so wonderful?
This is our moment, to worship
Mighty God and Prince of Peace
Lord of all, the King of kings
This is our moment, to worship him”

May we grow together in the love of Christ to reflect upon the mercies and blessings upon our lives, to feel the presence of God’s living Holy Spirit through worship to sing, pray, laugh, dance, cry, but mostly to praise our Lord and Father as we were indeed created2praise.
