Today’s song is “I Raise a Hallelujah” performed by Jonathan and Melissa Helser of Bethel Church
“Praise the Lord. Praise God in His sanctuary; praise Him in His mighty heavens. Praise Him for His acts of power; praise Him for His surpassing greatness. Praise Him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise Him with the harp and lyre, praise Him with timbrel and dancing, praise Him with the strings and pipe, praise Him with the clash of cymbals, praise Him with resounding cymbals. Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord.”
Psalm 150 1-6 (NIV)
“He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
Revelation 21:4 (NIV)
“Then I heard what sounded like a great multitude, like the roar of rushing waters and like loud peals of thunder, shouting: Hallelujah! For our Lord God Almighty reigns.”
Revelation 19:6 (NIV)
Today’s song, “I Raise a Hallelujah,” was created by Jonathan and Melissa Helser of Bethel Music. It was created from a cry to God to heal a friend’s son who became infected with E. coli. The E. coli caused kidney failure for their two-year-old boy named Jaxon. In time, this precious child of God would need blood transfusions and dialysis to keep him alive. Although a plea for prayer and support was put out to believers around the world, days before Christmas 2017, the Helsers received a text that Jaxon’s health was declining, and his parents did not know if he would make it. “As soon as I got that text, I felt like this giant of unbelief stood in front of me. I thought, ‘Jaxon’s going to die tonight, we’re not going to see the miracle.” (Jonathan Hesler) As the Helsers continued to pray for a miracle, “Raise a Hallelujah” was inspired by the Holy Spirit and became a powerful declaration against the giants that both Jaxon and Addie (Jaxon’s sister) were up against. With the prayer of a large body of believers, the dedication of a talented medical team, and, largely, a miracle from our Heavenly Father, the little bodies of Jaxon and Addie were restored to full health. (Jaxon’s sister Addie became infected as well) “God’s timing often doesn’t make sense until you look back to see that mountains were climbed and canyons were crossed on no strength of your own. In the battle for Jaxon’s life, the global church community rose up like a mighty army and joined us in prayer and worship all over the world. Our son was miraculously healed and today is perfectly healthy,” Joel later recalled.
A few weeks back, I was asked to pray for a little girl named Adele. Adele is two years old and has recently been diagnosed with embryonic cancer.
Today I ask you to pray with me for complete healing of her tiny body.
Father God, we thank you for little Adele and her precious life. We know that every child is precious in Your sight. We know that the same Jesus that loved the little children, the same Jesus that turned the water to wine, the same Jesus that healed the blind and raised the dead, the same Jesus that walked on water, and the same Jesus that rose Himself from the dead, has the power and authority to heal today.
Jesus, just as you healed the sick two thousand years ago, you healed little Jaxon from the video; we now ask that You come through the power of Your Holy Spirit to heal Adele. Please heal and restore her in a miraculous way that shows You to be the great physician and healer You are. We pray for Adele’s mom and dad, grandma and grandpa and all other family members. May they be drawn to You and the power of Your Spirit at this time. Grant them Your peace and protection during these days of uncertainty. Through Your Spirit, please replace any worry, fear, or anxiety with peace only You can offer. Give them the assurance that You hear their prayers and are in control. Also, give them the certainty that however You answer their/our prayers, You hold Adele in the palm of Your hand now and always. We come before You boldly; in Jesus name, we ask for a miracle today; we know that You are the giver of life and all good things, and we will thank You in advance for your healing of Adele’s body. We will continue to give You all praise, honour, and glory that You alone deserve.
In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
May we today, continue to be reminded and encouraged by the fact that whatever lies ahead for Jaxon, Adele, or any of us bigger kids, we are all God’s children, and He is way too big and way too powerful to be limited by any of our life’s problems. May we continue to trust that our God cares; He loves us, past, present, and future; He gave His life for us; He redeems us, He will return for us, and He is now, at this very moment, preparing a place for us to dwell with Him for eternity. May we trust in God’s perfect timing and will over our lives, knowing He wants only good things for us. In all circumstances, we desire to praise and worship God our Father alone. We will look forward to the day we experience the fullness and beauty of His presence, a day that all sorrow is banished and replaced with the fullness of His light and love.
Today and in the days to come, may we boldly continue to “sing a little louder,” declaring Honour, Glory, and Power, Forever and Forever to God our Father.
“Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, saying: “To Him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honour and glory and power, forever and ever!”
Revelation 5:13 (NIV)
In Christ,
Lou-Anne

I Raise a Hallelujah
Lyrics
I raise a hallelujah
In the presence of my enemies I raise a hallelujah Louder than the unbeliefI raise a hallelujah
My weapon is a melody I raise a hallelujah Heaven comes to fight for me
I’m gonna sing in the middle of the storm
Louder and louder, you’re gonna hear my praises roar Up from the ashes hope will arise Death is defeated, the King is aliveI raise a hallelujah
With everything inside of me I raise a hallelujah I will watch the darkness flee
I raise a hallelujah
In the middle of the mystery I raise a hallelujah Fear, you lost your hold on me
I’m gonna sing in the middle of the storm
Louder and louder, you’re gonna hear my praises roar Up from the ashes hope will arise Death is defeated, the King is alive

May we grow together in the love of Christ to reflect upon the mercies and blessings upon our lives, to feel the presence of God’s living Holy Spirit through worship to sing, pray, laugh, dance, cry, but mostly to praise our Lord and Father as we were indeed created2praise.
