Hosanna

Please add this worship song to your online church sermon, morning devotion, or evening quiet time.
Today’s song is “Hosanna (We Worship You)” by Saddleback Music

“The next day a great multitude that had come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, took branches of palm trees and went out to meet Him, and cried out:  ‘Hosanna! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the LordThe King of Israel!’”
John 12:12-13 (NKJV)

“Worthy is the Lamb who was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom, and strength and honour, and glory and blessing!”
Rev 5:12 (NKJV)

Today’s song, Hosanna (We Worship You), composed by Kirk Franklin and performed by Saddleback Music, will help us raise a Hosanna to our King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

Hallelujah, we are living on the resurrection of Jesus side of the cross.  We benefit from knowing that the cross was not final; Christ was victorious over death.  With palm branches, celebration, and Hosannas, the Israel people celebrated the entry of Jesus, looking, hoping, and believing He would be their King coming in the name of the Lord.   A King, a Saviour, a Warrior that would free them from their oppressors of the day. How they were ready to hail Jesus as King.  How they would have rejoiced at this moment, celebrating with songs of Hosanna to welcome the King that they had been waiting so long for.
Soon their rejoicing would turn to sorrow as they would witness the pain, agony, and horror of watching Jesus die, that just a short time ago they were celebrating as King.
Soon they would sing as we do today, Hosanna, as the darkness turned to daylight with the resurrection of Christ.
Jesus conquered death.  Jesus rose victorious.  Jesus made way for the forgiveness of our sins.
On the resurrection of Jesus side of the cross, we sing:
Hosanna, You are the King of Kings and Lord of Lord!  You are “Worthy to receive power and riches and wisdom, strength and honour, glory and blessing!”
Hallelujah! and Hosanna!

For your Resurrection, Hosanna be to Your Name!
For your Redemption plan, Hosanna be to Your Name!
For the Assurance of Life Everlasting, Hosanna be to Your Name!
For a joy found in You today, Hosanna, be to Your Name!

In Christ,
Lou-Anne

Lyrics:  “Hosanna” (We Worship You) by Kirk Franklin

“The angels bow down at the thought of You
The darkness gives way to the light for You
The price that you paid gives us life brand New
Hosanna forever we worship You
Hosanna forever we worship You

For you are the joy that my soul longs for
The lamb that was slain for my sins and the One I adore
King of kings, Ruler of everything
Hosanna forever we worship You
Hosanna forever we worship You

For your patience and kindness
And favour and mercy
And honour and glory
Because you are worthy
We can’t live without You
We can’t breathe without You
We can’t sing without You
Hosanna Hosanna

No greater love in this world but You
No one can compare to the things You do
Wherever You go I will follow You
Hosanna forever we worship You
Hosanna forever we worship You

Someday every tongue shall confess Your name
This house made of clay soon shall pass away
Whatever the test You will bring us through

Hosanna forever we worship You

Hosanna forever
Hosanna forever and ever and ever
Hosanna
We praise You
Hosanna forever and ever and ever

May we grow together in the love of Christ to reflect upon the mercies and blessings upon our lives, to feel the presence of God’s living Holy Spirit through worship, to sing, pray, laugh, dance, cry, but mostly to praise our Lord and Father as we were indeed created2praise.
